What is Circumcision?
Circumcision involves removing the foreskin covering the glans (head) of the penis. Today, people get circumcised for religious, medical and cultural reasons.
What are the medical reasons for circumcision?
Some older boys and men need to have a circumcision due to medical problems such as:
scarring of the foreskin that stops it from retracting (phimosis), recurring inflammation or infections of the penis (balanitis), a foreskin that is too tight and causes pain or spraying when urinating, or recurrent urinary tract infections.
What are the benefits of laser circumcision?
The author has established the first adult laser circumcision service in a public hospital in Singapore and is featured in the HardwareZone forum. He has also done more than 100 laser circumcision on adults using the CO2 laser with high patient satisfaction, including patients who cannot stop their blood thinning medications.
Laser circumcision has been proven in medical literature to be more effective as compared to conventional methods of circumcision with better healing, less pain, faster recovery and better cosmesis.
